ellenor provides hospice support services for adults and children living in Dartford, Bexley, Swanley and Gravesend. We offer a wide range of services including inpatient and community respite, palliative care, and end-of-life support services. We also offer wellbeing and therapeutic services for individuals and their families enabling people to live well and manage the impact of life-limiting illness.
Competitive Solutions’ (CSL) function is to support our income generation and maximise our ability to access Trust, Foundation and Statutory funding in what is an increasingly challenging climate.
At present we receive only 23% of our funding from the NHS to support our work. The additional income is raised through various other streams such as events and legacies and includes Trust and Foundation funding which CSL crucially support us with. Having taken the time to learn about our charity and our work, the CSL team are considered a vital part of the solution in gaining the much-needed income for ellenor to sustain and grow our services.

There are many pressures within the Hospice Sector to raise sufficient income to support our vital services. The changes within the NHS, significant pressure on the recruitment and retention of specialist workers, and the impact of the cost-of-living crisis have significantly impacted our organisation. Therefore, the Trustees and the Executive team recognise the importance of working with expert fundraising and bid writing specialists.
