Why choose Competitive Solutions

Competitive Solutions has been successfully supporting organisations and charities to fundraise for nearly 18 years. We understand the skills and knowledge required to be successful in today’s financial climate.

Engaging Competitive Solutions is a little like parachuting a team of experts into your charity to fundraise and write your funding applications for you; whilst you set the agenda and priorities.

The specialist skills of our team members enable us to work flexibly with and for you on every project.

Why choose us

Working with us means cutting the expense and bureaucracy of employing a member of bid writing staff whilst also avoiding the use of external consultants who charge a high daily rate and will not be invested in the outcome of their work.

Established nearly 18 years ago, our expertise extends into many sectors and we benefit from around 120 years of collective experience amongst our team members.

Working with Competitive Solutions offers additional benefits such as not only learning about the art of fundraising, but developing management and fundraising skills in-house.  We routinely support our client leadership teams with ‘Away Days’ at no extra cost; all contributing to the development of a rounded fundraising strategy and aligning charity stakeholders with aspirations.

Over the last 3 years, we raised on average, over £10 for every £1 spent on our services, equating to a Return on Investment of over 900%

Fundraising has become fiercely competitive, but our experience of best practice in the voluntary sector coupled with our relationships with key funders, mean our clients benefit from having their funding applications expertly written by us, providing them with the best possible chance of success and a much needed competitive advantage.

To date, collectively, we have secured over £84m worth of funding for our clients and continue to exceed expectations set by our Professional Body, The Institute of Fundraising.

OUR EXPerience

Our team members come from various backgrounds; but all have worked with and for the statutory sector and 100s of charitable organisations in the past. Our long history means we have nurtured relationships with many of the UKs leading grant providers. Importantly, we also work closely with Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups regarding commissioning protocols and best practice.

Our areas of expertise include:

  • Education and support for Young People with an emphasis on those marginalised, hidden or not engaging.

  • Employment and training.

  • Health and Wellbeing – both physical and mental health provision.

  • Carers support in line with the recommendations set out in the Care Act 2014. Including carers that are older, young, hidden and so on.

  • Homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse related support.

  • Ex-Offender and offender services to support resettlement in line with Home Office policy.

  • Community cohesion, inclusion and citizenship.

  • Welfare rights, information, advice and guidance services.

  • As well as funding for projects covering all of the above, we regularly secure funding for salaries, capital building schemes, renovations, equipment and related core costs

Our Success

Our success is based on the relationship we develop with you. This greatly increases the probability of a win-win outcome. Together with you, we market the uniqueness of your organisation in a way that differentiates it from competing tenders for funding.

In the competitive environment of funding, our understanding of your organisation and our understanding of current commissioning priorities results in creating an original “better than average” bid that goes beyond the basic requirements. This added value increases the probability of a “win” in the competitive market of funding. We are particularly good at being able to identify key services for which funding is (becoming) available.
